Rose M. Lukon

Rose M. (Malik) Lukon, 86 of New Derry, passed away peacefully on Wednesday September 25, 2024, in her home surrounded by her family.  She was born May 18, 1938 in Latrobe a daughter of the late Frank and Margaret (Kniska) Malik.  Rose was a member of St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church in Bradenville.  She loved to play bingo, crossword puzzles,  sewing, working in her garden, canning, and cooking and baking for her loved ones. (you never left her house hungry)  Some of Rose's other favorite pastimes were attending ballgames, going to the dog races in Wheeling WV and the casinos.  Rose was preceded in death by her husband John A. Lukon, two children John F. Lukon and Angela M. Quinn and her husband Matthew, six brothers and five sisters.  She is survived by two sons David A. Lukon of Latrobe and Andrew M. Lukon of Derry, two daughter-in-law's; Danielle Lukon of Derry and Carreen Cunningham of Latrobe, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.  Family will receive friends Friday from 4-7 pm in the McCabe Funeral Home,  300 W. Third Avenue, Derry.  Divine Liturgy will be Saturday at 11 am at St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church, Bradenville.
Entombment will be made in St. Clair Cemetery Greensburg.
