Samuel William Henigin Sr., 85, of Blairsville died Saturday January 4, 2025. He was born April 3, 1939 in Gray Station a son of the late Herbert and Mary Ann Flynn Henigin.
Sam was a member of Saint Simons and Jude Roman Catholic Church of Blairsville, had worked as a coal miner and was a member of the PA National Guard. Some of his fondest memories in life were of camping trips at Parker Dam State Park with his children, riding his Harley Davidson and cheering on his favorite drivers at the dirt track races. When he wasn't busy with these things he could be found riding his Four Wheeler on Derry Ridge or ensuring everything was as it should be at the family cabin.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Bonnie Bell Henigin, a son Samuel W. Henigin Jr., siblings; Herbert, George and John Henigin.
He is survived by his children; Dan Henigin (Joy) of Greensboro, NC, Margie Frenchik (Rick) of Blairsville, Robert Henigin (Jennifer) of Boone, NC and Duane Henigin (Jeanine) of Greencastle, IN, his brother James Henigin (Ruth) of Gray Station, grandchildren; Mandi Frenchik, Krista Graziani (Chris), Nicole Henigin, Alex Henigin (Hannah), Fynn, Autumn, Amber, John and Ben Henigin, three great grandchildren; Leo and Olivia Graziani, and Navy Henigin, several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received Thursday from 4-7 pm in the McCabe Funeral Home, 300 W. Third Avenue, Derry. A funeral mass will be celebrated Friday at 10am at Saint Simons and Jude Church Blairsville with Father Segundino Laude as celebrant. (Everyone is asked to go directly to the church) Interment will be made in the Saint Simons & Jude Cemetery.
