Scott Sheriff Obituary

Scott Sheriff, 55, of Ligonier, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully at home on August 23, 2025, surrounded by his beloved dogs and family. He was the devoted husband of Alison Sheriff, with whom he shared 27 years of marriage.

Born in Kittery, Maine, Scott was the son of Pamela Hutchinson and Barry Sheriff. He proudly served in the United States Navy, where he had the opportunity to travel the world and experience its many wonders. Following his military service, Scott built a successful career in masonry, where his craftsmanship and artistic skill were widely admired.

Scott had a deep passion for music—particularly playing his guitar—and brought joy to those around him with his melodies and original songs. Known for his infectious sense of humor, he had a gift for making others laugh and brightening any room he entered. He will be remembered for the countless smiles he inspired and the lasting memories he created through both music and laughter.

He is survived by his wife, Alison Sheriff; his children, Izabella Sheriff, Scotty Sheriff II, and Sophia Grace Sheriff; and his cherished granddaughter, Naiomi Sheriff. He is also survived by his mother, Pamela Hutchinson, and her husband Roy Hutchinson; his father, Barry Sheriff; his nephew, Booker Sheriff, and Booker’s fiancée, Devan, along with their son Copelyn; his niece, Lily Sheriff; and his sister-in-law, Jen Sheriff.

Scott was preceded in death by his beloved brother, Keith Sheriff, whom he missed dearly and now rejoins in eternal peace.

He also leaves behind his adored dachshunds, Ava, Bear, and Hunny Buns, who were a constant source of comfort and companionship.

A celebration of Scott’s life will be held on Saturday, October 18, from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Tubmill Creek Provisions in Ligonier, Pennsylvania. Friends and family are warmly invited to join in honoring his memory.
