Stephen James Kimmick

Stephen James Kimmick, 86, of Ligonier, passed away peacefully Tuesday April 1, 2025 at Select Specialty Hospital Latrobe, surrounded by his loving family. He was born October 23, 1938 in Monroeville a son of the late Lawrence B. and Anna Mae Wilson Kimmick.
Steve married Edna Mae Shaulis on October 23, 1961 in Waterford who preceded him in death on December 27, 2013.
He was a member of the Fort Palmer Presbyterian Church, was a US Coast Guard Veteran and had worked for Sani Dairy and Galikers Dairy for over forty years. After retirement from the dairies he worked for over twelve years at Fort Ligonier. Steve always took pride in the landscaping of his property, playing on the computer, electronic gadgets and being part of the Ligonier Valley Veterans Honor Guard.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of fifty-two years Edna M. Shaulis Kimmick and his brothers; Clifford, Jack, David, and Neil Kimmick.
Steve is survived by his son Stephen J. Kimmick Jr. (Jane) of Watertown, NY, his daughter Karen Beyer (Joseph) of Lowville, NY, his brother Fred Kimmick of Rector, his dedicated companion Donna Smithley, brother-in-law Ed Shaulis, sister-in-law Peggy Caves, five grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received Friday from 10-12 pm at the McCabe Funeral Home, 144 East Main Street, Ligonier where his service will be conducted at noon with his pastor the Rev. Dr. J. Paul McCracken officiating. Interment will be made at the Menoher Memorial Cemetery.
The Ligonier Valley Veterans Honor Guard will present a service Friday at 11:45 am in the funeral home.
