Stephen S. Smen Sr.

Stephen S. Smen Sr. 84 of Latrobe, passed away November 10, 2025. He was born February 15, 1941, in Millwood a son of the late Anthony and Blanche (Gurshka) Smen. Stephen was a United States Marine Corps Veteran. He retired as a coal miner from the 84 mine. He liked to hunt, fish and shop and was known for always having a root beer barrel candy. He enjoyed being with his children and grandchildren, always supporting them in their activities. Stephen is survived by his wife Carla (Bugher) Smen, his daughters Michelle Dumnich (Steve) of Mt.Pleasant, Amanda Thompson (Terrell) of Latrobe and Jessica Spencer (Tad) of Manti Utah, grandchildren Angelica Smen, Stephen, Logan and Kylie Todd, Audrey, Lindsay, Henry and Andy Spencer, Grace and Sawyer Smen, two great grandchildren Scarlett and Keagen Darazio, siblings; James Smen (Sandy) of Derry Twp., Ronald Smen (Patricia) of Pleasant Unity, Louie Pallottini (Sandy) of Derry and Fred Pallottini (June) of Michigan. In addition to his parents Stephen is preceded in death by his son Stephen S. Smen II, and his daughter Shannon L. Smen, a brother Anthony Smen Jr. a sister Rose Smen and his stepmother Jane (Smith) Smen.

Family will receive friends Friday November 14, from 12 to 2pm in the McCabe Funeral Home 300 West Third Ave, Derry, where The Latrobe Derry Veterans Honor Guard will present military honors at 2:15pm, in the funeral home. A funeral service will begin immediately after military honors.
