Welty T. Piper Sr.

Welty T. Piper Sr., 95, of Jeannette formerly of Derry, passed away Friday August 23, 2024 at his home surrounded by loved ones. He was born October 17, 1928 in Cook Twp. a son of the late Wilson H. and Carrie Musnug Piper.
Welty had been an independent truck driver and had retired from Latrobe Die Casting. He was a man who loved to tinker, was a jack of all trades and enjoyed motorcycles and cars.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife E. Louise Hofmann Piper, his brother Ralph H. Piper, his sisters; Emma Wright, Jenny Griffin and Anna Gunter Rice, and a granddaughter Amber Piper.
He is survived by his son Tom Piper (Paula) of Jeannette, two grandchildren; Paul Piper (Samantha) and Faith Sobol (Gordon), and four great grandchilden; Madalin and Paul Piper Jr. and Sydney and Eli Sobol (Paps special buddy).
 Friends will be received Tuesday from 1-2pm in the McCabe Funeral Home, 300 W. Third Avenue Derry. Interment will follow in the Bethel Church Cemetery.
