My dad, William Beatty Koller, had fond memories of summers with his cousin, Billy Flickinger, fishing, swimming, hiking, etc...doing all the things, young boys would do.  One story, dad told me was catching snapping turtles for a local restaurant's Snapping Turtle Soup.  They would wade in the stream holding a gunny sack in one hand and with the other hand search for holes in the side of the stream. Upon finding a hole, they would reach in and grab the turtle and quickly put it in the sack.  I asked, "Dad how didn't you lose a finger by grabbing them?"  He replied, "snapping turtles always go in head first, so you will always pull them out by their tail!"

The last time we visited Ligonier with our families, Susan Walsh and her family and mine, Bill and Shirley had Crispy cream donuts and we watched the Kentucky Derby!  I remember visiting our cousins when we came to Ligonier to visits the Coble's cabin in Lynn Run State Park.
God's comfort and blessing on you all!
