William A. Stehley Jr., 74, of Ligonier, died Tuesday August10, 2021 at his home surrounded by loved ones.
He was born November 30, 1946 in Ligonier Township, a son of the late William A. Stehley Sr. and Gertrude McLean Stehley Alexander.
Bill was a US Army Veteran having served during the Vietnam Era. He had been a coal miner, auctioneer and custodian during his working
days. He loved his dogs, hunting, fishing and drag racing. He was a member of the Jennerstown Rod & Gun Club.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his second wife Brenda Pry Stehley, his brother Freeman M. "Mick" Stehley and a brother in law James Berger.
He is survived by his wife Shelly Hoburn Stehley, his son William A. Stehley III of Boswell, daughters; Angela Knopsnyder (James) of Rockwood and
Jessica Stehley-Soto (Anthony Sr.) of Ligonier. Two step sons; Mark Haase Jr. (Nichole) and Lawrence V. Haase (Jessica) all of Latrobe, step daughter
Erin Pry of Alaska, sisters; Pam Berger and Penny Knupp (Merle "Butch") all of Ligonier, sister in law Lori Stehley of Bradenville, two special aunts; Emma Jean McLean and Violet Knupp both of Ligonier. Nine grandchildren, two great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8pm in the McCabe Funeral Home, 144 East Main Street, Ligonier, where a service will be conducted
Friday at 11 am. Interment will be made in Menoher Memorial Cemetery.
The Ligonier Valley Honor Guard will present a service Thursday at 7pm in the funeral home.
