William (Bill) Roger Lazarchik, 80, of Derry, died on November 12, 2025. He was born July 24, 1945, in Latrobe a son of the late William and Teresa Mastrorocco Lazarchik. He is remembered by his daughter Jenny Gonzalez and grandchildren Norah Kate, Owen Benson, and Caroline Faye of Warrenton, VA, friend and former wife Lois Lydick Lazarchik, sister Suzanne Edsall (Ronald) of Derry, brother Robert (Marilyn) of Florida, niece Nicole Coxe, and nephews Jason Edsall and Joshua Edsall.
Bill graduated from Derry Area High School in 1964 and joined the Navy. After leaving the Navy, he worked for many years at Standard Steel before retiring from Westmoreland County Prison.
Bill’s loves in his life are his daughter and grandchildren, hunting (evident in his many, many articles of camouflage clothing), and Pitt and Derry Area High School football. He was an avid lifelong hunter, known in the local hunting circle as “The Great White Hunter.” When not found in the woods, he could be found at the high school football games, Pitt games, or watching them on TV. These three things were the topic of every conversation he had. Later in life he also enjoyed woodworking and making things for his family.
Friends will be received on Monday November 17, 2025, from 11:00am till 12:00pm (the time of service) at the McCabe Funeral Home, 300 W. Third Avenue, Derry. Private interment will be made in the St. Joseph Church Cemetery.
The Latrobe-Derry Veterans Honor Guard and the US Navy will present a military service at noon in the funeral home.
