Rachel Ann Miller

February 13, 1979 ~ April 20, 2016 (age 37) 37 Years Old

Rachel Ann (Lang) Miller, 37, of Star Junction Pa. passed away surrounded by her loving family Wednesday April 20th, 2016 in Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh. Born February 13th, 1979 in Latrobe, she was the beloved daughter of Carol A. (Webster) and John Polo of Latrobe and James C Lang Jr. of Derry.

She attended Derry Area High School and graduated in 1997. She was previously employed in housekeeping. She was a loving daughter, mother, and sister, who for the past nine years was a dedicated advocate for bringing to justice those responsible for her sister Samantha’s murder. She worked countless hours to keep things open and public in the hopes of someone coming forward. She was Samantha’s voice.

Rachel was a down to earth, no frills type of person. Tank tops, sweat pants, and the outdoors is how she loved to live. Her creativity showed in the many crafts that she enjoyed making. She also made special homemade treats for her fur babies.

She was preceded in death by her sister Samantha Joann Lang, grandfather Warren G Webster, grandfather James Lang Sr., grandmother Sandra M Lewis, recently deceased Thomas R. Lewis, grandmother Gertrude “Sally” Polo, and uncle Joseph “Rick” Polo. Also preceding her in death were fur babies Millie and Korrin.

In addition to her parents, Rachel is also survived by her daughters Alexis Mae Malletz (Lexi Mae), and Johnna Haily Malletz (Baby Bug), brothers James C Lang III and Jacob A Polo, grandmother Connie M Webster, grandfather Ronald A Polo, fiancée Justin Levay, former spouse Jayson Miller and fur babies Parker, Ziggy, Angus Nelson, Ralphie, and Sam. She is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Family and friends will be received from 10am to 1pm on Tuesday April 26th at the McCabe Funeral Home, 300 W. Third Ave., Derry PA. Funeral service will be held at 1pm in the funeral home, officiated by Pastor Bruce Gorski. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to Rachel’s Mom, Carol Polo, to offset funeral costs.

“I love you to the moon and back, forever and always!” - Rachel
