James K. Stiffler, 71, of Latrobe, died Sunday May 14, 2017 in Excela Latrobe Hospital.

He was born March 15, 1946 in Latrobe a son of Faye Blair Stiffler of Latrobe and the late James R. Stiffler.

Jim was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Latrobe. He was a 1964 graduate of Derry Area High School and then graduated from Alfred University in New York. He married his high school sweetheart Jacqueline L. Angus Stiffler who preceded him in death March 31, 2016 a loss he could not overcome. Jim loved being with his family and talking with anyone and everyone. He was a member of the Derry Rod and Gun Club. He enjoyed following the Penguins, golfing and bowling back in the day.

In addition to his mother he is survived by his son James Scott Stiffler (Ricki) and his daughter Lisa K. Bonar (Jordan), his grandchildren; Rylan and Brady Stiffler, Colin and McKenzie Bonar all of Greensburg. His brother Kevin Stiffler (Denise) of Pittsburgh. His special sister-in-law Kay Stranko (Richard) of Latrobe, several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received Wednesday from 6-8pm in the McCabe Funeral Home, 300 W. Third Avenue, Derry. A funeral service will be conducted Thursday at 11am in the Trinity Lutheran Church of Latrobe with his pastor the Reverend Jeffrey Schock officiating. (Everyone is asked to go directly to the church.)
