Augustus Michael Anderson, 8, of Derry, died Monday June 27, 2016 as the result of an automobile accident on RT 22 near Rushwood Park. He was born August 22, 2007 in Latrobe a son of Anthony M. Anderson and Jamie Lynn George Anderson.

His life ended prematurely but left a lasting impression on all those fortunate to know him. He had just finished third grade at Grandview Elementary School as an honor student. Augustus was a dinosaur enthusiast and wanted to be a Paleontologist. He knew his bible stories, was an excellent reader and student of American Patriots. He loved singing songs at Vacation Bible School last week and his DAYAA baseball "Nationals."

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather Craig Anderson.

In addition to his parents he is survived by his maternal grandparents James Ronald and Linda Headrick George of Derry. His paternal grandparents John and Denise DiBernardo Zitz of NewAlexandria. Uncles Daniel Anderson (Christy) of Greensburg and Dr. Jayson Scott George (Lynn) of Latrobe. Cousins; Philomena, Anastasia, Genaro and Giovanni Zitz of New Mexico; Jordyn and Tobyn Anderson of Greensburg; William H. and Lillian Jane George of Latrobe.

Friends will be received Friday from 2-4 and 6-8pm in the McCabe Funeral Home, 300 W. Third Avenue, Derry. A requeim high mass will be celebrated Saturday at 10am in Holy Family Roman Catholic Church of Latrobe with the Very Reverend Daniel C. Mahoney VF as celebrant. Interment will follow in the Blairsville Cemetery.
